Second Life Base Avatar Files for DAZ Studio
DAZ Studio is a free 3D modeling program that can be used to create poses and animations in Second Life. DAZ Studio is very similar to Poser. It is compatible with Second Life, by exporting Second Life compatible .bvh files.
DAZ Studio, however does not include the base Second Life animation files. These files are imports from the Second Life Avatar Meshes provided by Linden Lab. They are only DAZ Studio files that are optimized for Second Life usage, by already providing the necessary key frames to create poses immediately.
These files are available for download here (SL-Base-Animations.zip)
Due to the fact that these files were originally created by Linden Lab for general use, you do not need to provide any attribution to myself or avaverse.org. These files are merely meant to be used as a template for creating animations in DAZ Studio.

Your file (SL-Base-Animations.zip) only contains little PNG thumbnails?
@Argent I don’t know, let me check to make sure I packaged the right items, but there should be a png and a .daz file.
Hi,
Daz cannot load something… it tells that one or more files cannot be found. What is needed to load it?
Does it indicate which file? Or gives you a file name?
No file name is indicated, it says to have a look to the log for details, but I don’t see any log file! I’ve just downloaded it, so it’s the last version, the 2.2.2.20. Any hint?

I went through everything, the files, etc, and everything still works for me. I’ve re-created the archives and have tested it all over a few times, so this should fix the issue. Are you sure that you have DAZ Studio installed properly?

Hi there,
Funnily enough, I just decided to fire up DAZ after having downloaded it ages ago, and then I found there was an update to 2.3.5 and got that. In any case, I stumbled across this page, which was very welcome! I was scratching my head a bit about how to setup the standard obj mesh to work with DAZ.
Unfortunately, I am running into the problem reported by Zathras. Possibly it’s just an issue with this new version? My log output is, for example:

Hummm… this is really odd, let me take a look at it all and hopefully I’ll come up with a solution.
I found and corrected the issue, these files now work regardless DAZ Studio version.
